SEASONAL CODE Material Revived On Ultra-Limited-Edition CD Package

CODE — the British/Norwegian black metal project featuring bassist/backing vocalist Viper (a.k.a. Vicotnik from DHG),guitarist/songwriter Aort and vocalist Kvohst (DØDHEIMSGARD) — has issued the following update:

"Before CODE, there was SEASONAL CODE. Three demos were recorded between 1998 and 2001, pressed in extremely low numbers and inevitably disappeared with little trace. Time has passed and a little perspective has been gained….and now is the time to revisit these recordings for one last time and make them available in a new form. Tracks from each of the three demos were selected to be revived in addition to two tracks that were created during the 'Resplendent Grotesque' writing sessions that never made it on to said album. These tracks were then completely re-recorded and are now available in an ultra-limited-edition CD package for the final time. The end result is a nine-track CD lasting over an hour featuring an atmospheric mix of death, black and doom metal. The tracks are mostly instrumental in nature apart from three tracks originally on the 'Law of Transition' demo, which feature the original vocal recordings from Chthonian who also spat forth over the CODE 'Neurotransmissions' promo.

"In keeping with the ethos of Haintic [the U.K.-based label which released the SEASONAL CODE CD], this is a very carefully packaged release. It features a hand-numbered metal tin, double-sided inlay card and a hand annotated information sheet. This CD is limited to just 100 copies!

"If you want a copy, you are going to need to act fast. This CD will only be available at Haintic.com. When they are gone… they are gone!"

Two tracks have been uploaded to the HainticMySpace page as a teaser.

"Resplendent Grotesque", the second album from CODE, was released on June 1, 2009. According to the band, the follow-up to 2005's "Nouveau Gloaming" contains "songs of necrospiritual dust and desertion, crafted by bony hands in blackbird gloves." Aort previously stated about the CD, "Adrian completely devastated the drums for this recording and Vicotnik has manageed to really outdo himself with his most inspired bass work yet. I think we have all raised the bar with this recording and we are itching to get these morbid hymns out to you."
